Leadership
FedStarts President Chris Zimmerman brings extensive experience bridging government and private sector technology leadership.
Most recently, Chris served as Director of Strategic Cyber Partnerships, a Senior National Intelligence Service (SNIS) position at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence's Cyber Threat Intelligence Integration Center (CTIIC). In this role, he directed ODNI's landmark IC-wide cyber threat intelligence program—a multi-million dollar initiative that integrated commercial intelligence and cyber-specific open-source datasets with the Intelligence Community's collection and analysis capabilities. This program significantly reduced IC spending while enhancing agencies' security posture.
Chris served as CTIIC's representative to the ODNI AI Working Group and was awarded the Director's Team Excellence Award.
Prior to ODNI, Chris built and led high-performing teams at leading cybersecurity companies including Amazon Web Services, Armis, Palo Alto Networks, Cylance, and FireEye. His teams were consistently recognized as top performers company-wide.
Chris holds a B.S. in Social Science from James Madison University with minors in History and Geography, completed graduate studies in Secondary Education and Cybersecurity at George Mason University, and is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
